The Kannur science park was registered under the Society's Registration Act XXI of 1860 on July 24 in the year 2002. The Science Park was inaugurated on the 12th of November 2002.

 
  A governing body with the Jilla Panchayat President as this body's chairman controls the Kannur Science Park.
 
  The Kannur Science Park is located on the Kannur- Thalassery Highway near to the Collectorate junction.

The Kannur Science Park is easily accessible by rail and by the road too.

 
  The aim of the Kannur Science Park is to popularise Science as a whole amongst the student population and the general public.
 
 
1. To disseminate scientific knowledge in different sectors of the society and popularise science through the exchange of scientific information.
2. To act as a catalyst to promote innovative scientific thoughts by inculcating scientific knowledge among youth and children.
3. To enable the students to unravel the mysterious of astronomic and natural phenomena by installing planetariums and roof top observatories.
4. To demonstrate and illustrate scientific exhibits and models and conduct classes and trainings to teachers for refreshing and updating their knowledge in science development.
5. To conduct workshops, exhibitions, discussions etc. to popularise science, technology, environmental protections etc.
6. To develop the centre as a picnic spot by establishing an integrated set of technology garden, science amusement park for children.
7. To help the educational institutes in the Malabar region by providing technical expertise for functioning science clubs, activity groups, hobby clubs, creative ability centres, environmental action troops etc.
8. To co-ordinate other science technology centre industrial agencies and research centres for exchanging and sharing technological innovations in order to upgrade the centre.
9. To facilitate intensive training and capacitate the technical staff of the Science Park from other reputed institutes in and outside the country.
10. To publish science bulletins, guides, brochures, and nature study leaflets, annual reports etc. related to the functioning of the Science Park.
11. To support and encourage directly or indirectly the teachers college students and university students of science to take up research activities by forming separate science forums.
12. To establish a science library and equip it with authoritative reference books and research journals and science periodicals for the use of student's, teachers and the public who are willing to take a membership in the library.
13. To popularise science and scientific knowledge among common public by conducting seminars, debates etc. on life oriented subjects.
14. To celebrate days of scientific importance by conducting exhibitions, quiz and other creative activities. E.g.: environment day, wild life day/week, space day etc.
